Bhumi Pod Retreats

What is a retreat?

A retreat is an opportunity to take time away from the busyness and pressures of our daily lives. We can live more simply, relax and quietly appreciate the beauty of our surroundings.

There is time and space to look afresh at ourselves, our lives and our habitual ways of being. We can be more truly in touch with our deeper values and aspirations. We are with ourselves but also in the company of others who have similarly chosen to come on retreat.
A retreat is not a holiday, but can be more deeply fulfilling and enjoyable than a holiday. Part of the sense of fulfilment comes from the challenge of experiencing ourselves and the world more deeply.

Supported by various activities on the retreat, we may notice that our mind becomes clearer, stiller and more at ease, and that our heart can become open and responsive.  When we leave, we have changed somewhat, and can take something of these clearer, deeper ways of being back into our day-to-day lives.

Bhumi Pod retreats are designed mainly for:
People with various health conditions and disabilities that originate from autoimmune diseases, those managing physical challenges  from such conditions as Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke or as a result of a sudden accident for example.

People come to the retreat to spend some time in an environment and climate where they can learn or expand their knowledge to improve wellness, initiate healing responses, find support from other like-minded people and grow a better more confident lifestyle. The common connection of those on the retreat will likely be that each is searching for new adventures or ways to work with their conditions and is ready to take action required to discover their true potential.
Possibly 1 or 2 of people in any single retreat may be wheelchair users OR may have some small mobility challenges-for example using walking sticks/cane or rollator.
Bhumi retreats can make it possible for anyone with a physical challenge to be accompanied by their chosen support system (family or friend).
